Hi, my name is Colin Goodwin - and this is my blog.
Professionally, I'm a Project Coordinator at a digital agency in Halifax, Nova Scotia called Modern Media. I have experience as an Account Coordinator at Chester + Company, where my primary accounts were O'Regan's Automotive Group and EastLink. I interned as an Account Manager at Lowe Roche Advertising in Toronto, Ontario where my main account was Audi Canada.
Scholastically, I graduated from Acadia University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing).
Personally, I use this site as a collection of thoughts, creative, media, design, campaigns, branding, promotion, photos, music, ideas, art, and anything else I find relevant to my world.
Feel free to check me out on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, or you can e-mail me at 'c.goodwin@me.com'.

Visually, this may be the most impressive Nike spot I’ve seen (and that’s saying a lot). Do I even need to give a shoutout to Wieden+Kennedy at this point? They kill it every time (although some find the KobeSystem commercials confusing). Check out all the newly unveiled stuff they announced today here; Flyknit just being one product.

You know I have a soft spot for Audi. Love their new Super Bowl commercial, especially the tag line “Daylight, now in a headlight.” I remember hearing about the then-secret A7; the thing is hot.

I’ve seen these painted ground illusions before, but this might be the coolest.

This Japanese Burger King Triple Whopper commercial from 2007 is incredible. #eatlikesnake

AdAge: Why Omnicom Opts Out of Digital Spotlight

Interesting piece on why the world’s second largest advertising agency holding company hasn’t been as aggressive as others in this ever-changing interactive and digital world. I think they’ve got an interesting business model, and the interviews provide a good explanation, as well as a possible glimpse of what is to come. Great quote from the end of the article (which I personally couldn’t agree with more): “They’ll all digitize one way or another, if not, their clients will flee. That’s how agencies die.”

YouTube Adblitz 2011

Standouts for me personally were the Chrysler Eminem spot “Imported From Detroit” (2 min ad aka $12 Million), Sealy Posturepedic “After Glow”, and Stella Artois “Crying Jean” (with Adrien Brody). As usual, Doritos was hilarious, and Coca-Cola was visually stunning. Also, I may be biased, but I thought Audi America did a fantastic job (although not quite as awesome as that ‘Godfather’ piece from a few years back). Groupon had a couple of goodies too.

What were your favourites?

Volkswagen Commercial: ‘The Force’, aka the Super Bowl ad everyone will be talking about (created by VW’s Agency of Record Deutsch LA).

Strategy's Creative Report Card

Congratulations to everyone who made the list this year - great to see both past/current co-workers and agencies!
